Offer Vegas an prospect and pick for Miller and call it a summer if any other clubs won't play ball for Dumba/Trouba/Vatenan

They also have those two Swedes to battle it out and hope to bring some depth in case of injury.

Yes - at the right number and term. Two years for Marleau no problem. With McDavid's new contract, the Leafs might be looking at $12 Mil soon enough for Matthews and Marner/Nylander will not be cheap. Window of inexpensive contracts for the three just got much tighter.

Please refrain from using the words "Leafs" "Thornton" and "multi-year deal" in the same sentence.

Thanks.

"Leafs" will not sign "Thornton" to a "multi-year deal."

Agree, but I wouldn't mind Marleau for two years.

The Senators plan on keeping Dion Phaneuf. Inquiries slowed after the Draft in Chicago and more so once Methot was traded to Dallas
.

Yes they will

and they will like it...

Its desperate, but not serious.

While Weal should not be described as "speedy", his skating is hardly Handzusian. He can get up and down the ice, but if you're looking for a speedster, Jordan isn't weally all that fast.

Agree, but I wouldn't mint Marleau for two years.

I can't see any reason to sign either guy at 38 - not even for a year. It's not bring-your-dad-to-the-rink day at the ACC.

If they really want an old guy for experience or leadership, maybe get Williams - he has 3 cups and is a tireless worker. But again . . who does he bump? The wing spots are largely spoken for.

Yep and if that's the case? they better lock up the complementary players Hyman and Brown to hopefully decent deals, they could be replaced by bracco or rychel possibly! But that mcdavid signing just changed the landscape for top tier players! If matthews comes in at 10to12 then Nylander,Marner? 6to7

I think you should totally be ok with one of those guys for one year. Thing is, I think Marleau (maybe it was Thornton) was quoted on Sirius today as wanting to play til 42.

Now, if you think the rebuild is way ahead of schedule and the Leafs are ready for a Cup run now then yeah, you probably want to be focusing on defensive upgrades.
